Families are a key part of the St Michael's community. We aim to offer a diverse and exciting programme for children and young people at our church and in the community. See below for more information or for ways to get involved.
Our children's groups provide Christian fellowship for babies up to Year 12 school age. All are welcome to attend.
There are no groups on the first Sunday of the month as this is our Café Church service where children stay with their families sitting around tables with drinks and refreshments. All other Sundays have a group for children. Visit St Michael's page on the button below to find out more.
All supervisors are DBS checked and the groups adhere to our Safeguarding policy and procedures.
This is our twice-weekly parent and baby/toddler group – open to all, during term time.
Mondays and Thursdays, 10.30am to 12 noon
The sessions consist of circle time, with a Godly Play story, Bible-themed craft activity, as well as our favourite nursery rhymes, ending with a parachute game and goodbye song. The story and theme is the same for both sessions.
Both groups are held at St Michael's Centre, across the road from the church. To support our direct costs, we ask for £3 per family per session, by cash or BACS payment. No need to book. We close during school holidays.
Our free Thursday group for 'busy, weary' parents who may not always get time to get to church on a Sunday or would like to find out more about life with faith in an informal setting.
When you arrive, you'll receive a refreshing hot drink and some toast. It's your chance in the week to breathe, chat and explore something more about the God who loves us. This is a lovely supportive group who would love to welcome you.
We meet at St Michael's Centre on Thursdays. Arrive from 1.15pm for 1.30pm start, we finish around 2.30pm (term-time only).
Young children are very welcome, we have plenty of toys to amuse them. All our team are DBS checked. There are toilet and baby changing facilities.
St Michael's Church, Thursday after school, 3.30pm – 4.30pm (term time only)
For ages 6 – 11 years
A great opportunity to find out about a Bible story each week and then enjoy making a brick model.
Drinks, snacks and all the bricks included.
We take the care and protection of children, young people and adults involved in Church activities very seriously. Safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone who participates in the life of the Church. Click below to find out more about our Safeguarding Policy.
Opportunities to get involved with our children’s activities
There are several opportunities throughout the week to be part of our Children’s & Families ministries. These groups can’t run without the help and support of our church family. If you are free during the day to be part of one of these teams on a rota basis, we’d love to hear from you. You’d be surprised how rewarding and fun it is to share with the children!
If you would like to serve in this way, please contact the Church Office (07354 874617 or email admin@stmichaelsbishopscleeve.co.uk) and we will gladly tell you more.
Please pray for these ministries and all those involved with them.
