Mission Sunday 2026

On Sunday 5th July, St Michael's Church held our annual Mission Sunday, a dedicated time to focus on our Mission Partners, hear about their work, and explore how we can continue to support them.

It was a joyful and encouraging morning as we lifted our eyes beyond our own building to recognise our place in God's wider family.

Updates from Our Partners

During both services, we heard directly about the work of our three mission partners: Grassroots Rwanda, Mission Macedonia, and The North Cotswold Foodbank based in Bishops Cleeve. We were updated on their new initiatives, listened to the challenges they are currently facing, and learned how we can pray for them in the coming year.

During the services we also reflected on why focusing on the Church beyond our walls is so important, recognising that now statistically, the "average" Christian is an 18-year-old woman living in Africa. We were reminded that we belong to a global family and share a worldwide mission which echoes the words of Jesus in Matthew 28, where he commands us to make disciples of all nations. By maintaining this focus on mission and outreach, we get to know the wider Church, find fresh encouragement for our own faith, and fulfil our calling to support others through generous giving and dedicated prayer.

The Cake Sale

We also want to pass on a warm thank you to everyone who baked, bought, and donated at the cake sale that was held between our two morning services. We are pleased to announce that the sale raised a very generous £516, which will be shared equally between our three mission partners.
